Chelsea founded Energy Dance with the dream of providing opportunities for young people to flourish in a tough industry. She gained her love for dance as a teenager at a Youth Centre, where it supported her through her most challenging times and helped her to develop a champion mentality. By 18 years old, Chelsea was teaching over 5 teams and travelling around the world with them to compete and train. She won multiple World & European titles and choreographed for the Blue Peter TV show. She believes every community needs mentors, and will always go above and beyond to be there for the members of Energy Dance and those surrounding it too. In 2023, Chelsea graduated the Virgin Money Foundation Change Makers Fellowship, who invested in her for building an initiative that was creating positive change for young people of Manchester & GM, being recognised by Richard Branson for her unique and impactful work.
CHELSEA
Lydia has taught at Energy since early 2023 after completing 4 years of professional dance training at Shockout Arts where she earned a Level 3 Diploma in Performing Arts Dance and a BA Honours (accelerated) in Professional and Commercial Dance. Prior to her professional training, she was taught by the owner of Energy Dance (Chelsea) for 4 years and has come back to her roots with a passion for teaching the future generation of performers. Lydia is also a working professional in the dance industry and has recently been seen on The BRIT Awards performing with Becky Hill. She is a very kindhearted person and will put her all into getting the best out of herself and her students in a positive dance environment.
LYDIA
Demi has been teaching at energy since 2020 after being our first student teacher. She is a huge part of our team having been here from the very beginning and is now one of our most valued teachers. She has been dancing since she was young and has undergone training in all the different street styles such as house, waaking and hip-hop, and has also trained in ballet. Demi has achieved some amazing performances from a young age such as performing with Giggs at Wembley, and in her years of competing has become a World Champion at some well-known competitions. Demi is a very passionate person and will always strive for the best outcome for her dancers, physically and mentally.

ANGEL
Angel is our newest Energy staff member; she came to us after teaching a variety of styles such as ballet, tap and modern. She has trained in these styles since she was three years old, before studying a BTEC in Performing Arts at Cardinal Newman College. After gaining her BTEC qualification, she delved into the Hip-Hop world and found a love for it which led her to studying the foundational style at ICTheatre. This is where she started her teaching journey and also became the founder of Urban Grooves Hip-Hop Company. After her graduation, she performed in the UEFA Championships late final with Lenny Kravitz, working alongside Boy Blue and the director Fatima Robinson. Angel is caring and dedicated to the style of dance we teach at Energy and is working hard to develop the next generation of dancers.
Jake has been dancing for 13 years and has recently started his teaching journey with us in May of 2024, after training at The Hammond for 3 years, achieving a Level 6 Diploma in Professional Dance. He is a very experienced dancer and has opened for Diversity and performed for artists such as Justin Bieber and T-Pain. Jake has trained in many styles such as Hip-Hop, Commercial, Ballet, Tap, Jazz and Contemporary. He is a loving and kind person who always loves to put a smile on everybody's face!
